After two postponements due to Covid-19 restrictions the exhibition is now open to the public 4-26 July 2020, Basil Sellers Gallery, Moruya.
Eight EFTAG members have been working on this project since an EFTAG retreat (September 2018) at Tuross Head when the group decided to work with the donated fibres from the Hessing Estate.
Basil Sellers Exhibition Centre accepted the proposal for a group show of works inspired by Mona Hessing, her life and her arts journey.
A great deal of research about Mona Hessing was carried out including a visit to view some of Mona’s collection at NGA. A wonderful insight into Mona’s practice and life can be listened to on this amazing recording of an interview help by Trove archives : Mona Hessing Interview
Participating Artists : Julie Armstrong, Alison Bogg, Julie Brennan, Lorna Crane, Cathie Griffith, Roslyn Holmes, Stephanie Simko and Mischi West.
The works are just simply stunning!
