Twined basketry and sculptural vessels workshop with Trish Flynn
Sat 16th Sep 2023, 10:30 am – 2pm
Join EFTAG member and textile artist Trish Flynn to learn the traditional basketry technique of twining.
Twining is an ancient technique still used today to make beautiful and functional vessels and baskets across many cultures worldwide.
In this small group workshop you’ll use colourful paper twines to create a small vessel. Trish will also bring along samples of completed twined vessels and suitable materials. You’ll be inspired by the range of both functional and sculptural pieces you can make using this technique.

Making your mark: textile collage & stitch workshop with Alison Bogg
Wednesday 20 September 10.30 – 2pm
Join EFTAG member and textile artist Alison Bogg to explore creative mark-making, and textile collage and slow stitch.
Learn how to use a variety of stitches and textile collage techniques.
Discover ways to experiment with different materials and textures and relax into slow stitching.
Create a unique textile art piece or fabric book and experimental samples.
This is a fun and experimental workshop where you will be able to produce a small textile art piece or fabric book.

Knotless netting/looping workshop with Trish Flynn
Friday 22 September 10.30am – 2pm
Learn the art of knotless netting with EFTAG member and textile artist Trish Flynn.
To learn the technique Trish will guide you to cover a river stone or make a small bag using beautiful waxed linen thread. The technique can be used in many ways, from making small bags and other useful objects, beautiful pendant jewellery, scarves or incorporated into sculptural art.
